Duties and Responsibilities of a Transport Planner/Coordinator

1. Transport Planning and Route Optimization

 Plan, schedule, and optimize delivery and pickup routes across multiple client accounts.

 Utilize TMS (Transport Management System) or manual tools to ensure cost-efficient and timely transport

plans.

 Balance service quality with cost-effectiveness across urban and provincial deliveries.

1. Coordination Across Stakeholders

 Coordinate with warehouse, dispatch, customer service, and client representatives to align transport

activities.

 Maintain close communication with internal teams and external partners (e.g., trucking subcontractors,

drivers).

1. Execution Monitoring

 Track transport execution in real-time using GPS or transport dashboards.

 Proactively address and resolve transport issues (delays, vehicle breakdowns, delivery failures).
