Summary Description
Under direction, assists the director in the planning and overall direction of a system wide program for receiving and distributing supplies and food related items; acts for the director in the director's absence. An employee in this class evaluates, plans, implements and administers the daily logistical operations of a computerized warehouse and distribution facility. Work in the class involves developing, implementing and administering a computer system of inventory control. Supervises and manages the ordering, scheduling, receipt, storage, and issuance and distribution of food and other school system supplies. Food Service position coordinates USDA commodities program including the determination of allocation requests. System design is accomplished in cooperation with principals, program managers, food service personnel, MSDE, and the Controller's Office.
