Key aspects of the role involve:
- Focusing on the M+1 and M+2 periods, ensuring crude selection and refinery throughput meet demand and operational limits.
- Using refinery LP models to evaluate future supply scenarios, processing strategies, and major operational events like turnarounds.
- Collaborating closely with Supply and Demand Planners to embed refinery plans into enterprise-wide supply and demand strategies.
- Conducting scenario analyses to understand the impact of different crude slates, market prices, and operational constraints on refinery profitability.
- Analyzing weekly price forecasts to assess their influence on refinery margins and communicating insights to stakeholders.
- Supporting performance analysis by identifying deviations from plans and refining LP assumptions.
- Working with the Short-Term LP Planner to evaluate how campaign plans influence long-term performance.
