Mac Operator — Accessible Document Transcription

Salary: Up to £20k pa (maybe more for ideal fit)

Amongst other services our Client transcribes documents – bank statements, utility bills etc into easy read / large font format for their Transactional Mail Clients customers.

Original text is transcribed and reformatted without compromising the context or content of the document for visually impaired customers.

Normally they train someone from scratch for this role, as the business is growing they are looking to appoint someone with exposure to, (or a degree of experience in), this field of prepress for ‘faster track’ training.

The role will involve the setup of scanning templates on a specialist data capture and document processing system, scanning the bills, extracting the text and uploading it through their in-house pipeline to convert to an alternative format.
