Job Description

Directly responsible to the Fabrication Supervisor. Functionally responsible for the production and quality of fabricated parts as per fabrication drawings. Communicate with all plant production personnel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Machine Set-up Operator are detailed below, but not limited to the following:
Set-up and operate all machines in the Fabrication Department in an effective and cost-efficient manner while maintaining good quality and safety standards.
Check samples periodically and ensure they match first-piece sample check.
Ensure first piece sample is double checked by other plant personnel.
Ensure material is identified for shape number, work order number and quantity. If material is being used from stock, have stock number identified on work order.
Ensure material is checked for proper cut length before fabrication using appropriate tools.
