Magnetic Devices Group Leader

The Accelerator Systems Division (ASD) provides best-in-class operation, maintenance and upgrade of the Advanced Photon Source accelerators and support users in doing outstanding science in a safe environment. The division is searching for a Group Leader to provide the necessary supervision and technical leadership for the Magnetic Devices Group of the Accelerator Systems Division at the Advanced Photon Source.

This person in this position will:

+ Manage all aspects of the necessary research, design, analysis, construction, improvement, installation, operation and maintenance of APS insertion devices, including permanent magnet and superconducting undulators.
+ Manage all aspects of the design, construction and improvement of all APS accelerator complex electromagnets.
+ Manage the budgeting and scheduling of the group`s R&D and maintenance activities.
+ Lead the development of innovative magnetic systems to enhance the performance and reliability of the APS....
