Mainframe Storage Engineer - z/OS, Modernisation

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage Engineer to join a global financial services organisation, working on business-critical zSeries platforms and contributing to a large-scale Mainframe modernisation programme. This role offers the opportunity to work across established storage technologies and newer tooling, supporting automation, optimisation, and platform transformation within a complex, enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and support zSeries Mainframe storage environments
• Administer and optimise DASD and tape storage, including capacity planning and performance tuning
• Manage SMS, DFSMS, and HSM policies to ensure efficient data lifecycle management
• Support storage migrations, upgrades, and modernisation initiatives
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related issues across the zSeries estate
