Salary: Grade 14, ranging from £25,185 - £25,989 per annum.
This role will be based at Kilve Court, Kilve Bridgwater, TA5 1EA and Charterhouse Outdoor Education Centre, Blagdon, BS40 7XR.
Role Summary
As a Maintenance Officer you will be responsible for day‑to‑day maintenance, security and operational support across Somerset Council’s Outdoor Education Centres at Kilve Court and Charterhouse, ensuring safe, compliant and well‑maintained facilities for customers and staff. You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, coordinate repairs and contractors, monitor site systems (including heating, energy and plant), and manage site security and opening/closing procedures. Working closely with Centre Managers and Property Services, you’ll also support health and safety compliance and oversee maintenance budgets to keep the centres running smoothly.
