Manager, Commodity Tax

Reporting to the AVP, Commodity Tax, the Manager, Commodity Tax will lead the indirect tax function for CTC and its subsidiaries, overseeing risk identification, opportunity assessment, and monitoring the impact of global digitization trends. The role serves as the primary subject matter expert on sales taxes for enterprise projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Stay current on commodity tax legislation, rulings, interpretations, and court cases relevant to the retail, real estate, and financial institution industries.
• Analyze the implications of changes and communicate findings to the organization.
• Design and improve processes to achieve operational efficiency and data accuracy for accounting and analysis of commodity taxes.
• Determine federal and provincial commodity tax implications of complex transactions and initiatives to minimize tax cost while managing risk.
