Kita is a youth development nonprofit using person-centred and participatory practices to return agency to youths and their communities. We support youths from under-resourced backgrounds through community gatherings, personal exploration opportunities, and structured career programmes that prepare them for meaningful employment.
(X) by Kita is our third space in Singapore's Civic District — a community living room where youths in the precinct can gather, connect, and grow. ((X) is a placeholder name; one of our first endeavours is to work with youths themselves to shape what this place is called.)
Still in its early chapter, it is modest in size at approximately 500 square feet, but ambitious in purpose. We believe physical spaces can be places of genuine respite and refuge, and for youths from diverse backgrounds who may not always have somewhere that feels like theirs, (X) by Kita is being built to be exactly that.
