About the Role:
A Marine Draft Surveyor is responsible for determining the quantity (weight) of cargo loaded onto or discharged from a vessel by measuring changes in the ship's draft. This role ensures accurate cargo calculations for commercial, legal, and safety purposes, particularly in bulk cargo operations.
What you'll be doing
Conduct draft surveys before and after cargo loading or discharging
Measure vessel drafts, freeboards, ballast, fuel, freshwater, and stores
Calculate cargo quantities using hydrostatic tables, trim, list, and correction factors
Verify vessel stability and compliance with safety standards
Inspect cargo condition and report any damages or discrepancies
Witness cargo loading/discharging operations
Prepare and submit accurate survey reports with calculations and findings
