Summary This vacancy is for a GS-2101-13, Marine Transportation Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy, Commercial Regulations and Standards Directorate, Office of Merchant Mariner Credentialing, Maritime Personnel Qualifications Division in Washington, DC. Responsibilities You will serve as a Marine Transportation Specialist and be responsible for participating in the development, interpretation, and implementation of policies and regulations pertaining to the qualification, training, and credentialing of U.S. Merchant Mariners. Being a Coast Guard (CG) civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include: Providing support to evaluators, auditors, and the maritime industry on the development, interpretation, and enforcement of international treaties, laws, and regulations related to Mariner Credentialing and U.S. vessel manning.
