Marine Underwriter

A) Position Objective:

The position is responsible for Cargo underwriting, including day to day servicing of Accounts. Duties include reviewing assigned cases to provide Underwriting decisions based on company guidelines and ensure meets customer satisfaction level.

B) Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Assists Group Heads in the development and implementation of business plans and strategies.
2. To assist the Line Underwriters in the annual review and updating of various Open Marine Policies’ rates, terms and insuring conditions (if so required).
3. Receive and examine the completeness of submitted documents (i.e. proposal form, underwriting information) by the client with regard to underwriting of Cargo risks and recommend to Supervisor/line underwriters acceptance and/or rejection of risks
4. Evaluate risk for new business in accordance with standards, to ensure profitable growth
