Mechanical Engineer Overseas Buildings Operations

Position

The U.S. Embassy Bern is seeking eligible, qualified applicants for the position of Mechanical Engineer (temporary through April, 2028) in the Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) section.

Responsibilities

Working under the Construction Manager/Project Director of the OBO team, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing and inspecting all work elements of the construction site, reviewing requests for information, submittals, shop drawings, and other construction plans, developing change orders and cost estimates for the Bern Selective Improvement Project (SIP). The incumbent must be capable of working independently.

On behalf of OBO, the Mechanical Engineer will oversee contractors over the course of the project, including design revisions.
