Mechanical Engineering Technology- Machinist

Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machine tools to produce precision metal parts and components according to specifications. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, etc.)
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machining requirements
• Select appropriate cutting tools, materials, and machine settings
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure quality standards are met
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
