Mechanical Technician

Job description:
This role is designed to implement continuous improvements, mechanical design and fault analysis designated to fully automated machines to meet specific performance criteria in respect of safety, people, production, quality and engineering availability. Provide high level support to the Shift artisans and the specialised engineering maintenance team. To implement small scale Mechanical Projects in designated areas.
Roles and Responsibilities
Analysing mechanical unplanned downtime and assist in generating reports per section
Implements mechanical initiatives to reduce engineering downtime
Reports back to the Plant Engineer and Maintenance Manager on mechanical related downtime
Ensures that implementation conforms to the engineering standards and world class asset care systems and practices
Proactively assists with root cause analysis of major breakdown repairs using appropriate problem-solving methodologies
