Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties including preparing patient for medical examination, charting medical histories, maintaining medical records, scheduling patient appointments and other clerical tasks. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinical services.

• Performs physical examination preparations, point of care testing, vital signs, vaccines, phlebotomy, drug administration including injections, prescription verification with physician's orders, minor surgery assists, and bio-hazard waste disposal.
• Fulfills environmental responsibilities including restocking and cleaning exam/procedure rooms to maintain infection control, cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records.
