**Description for Internal Candidates**



The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program is designed for candidates passionate about healthcare and eager to learn in a hands-on environment. Apprentices will receive comprehensive training from experienced preceptors in outpatient clinics in the greater Portland metropolitan area. This intensive six-month earn-to-learn program enables apprentices to earn a full-time wage while training to become a Medical Assistant. In addition to hands-on in-clinic training, apprentices are required to complete unpaid coursework outside of clinic time.



**Key Program Details**



+ Program Length: Approximately six months (a minimum of 1,000 clinical training hours).

+ Clinic Training Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (40 hours per week in-person).
