**Harborview Medical Center’s Interpreter Services Department** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Medical Interpreter 1, Cantonese and Mandarin.**

**WORK SCHEDULE**

+ 40 hours per week
+ Day Shift

**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**

+ Enable patient(s) to access medical care
+ Be a part of a team dedicated to improving language access

**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Provide oral, sight and written interpretation for target language(s)
+ Transmit information accurately between patient and provider or staff
+ Encourage direct communication between patient and provider or staff
+ Manage complexity of cross-cultural encounter
+ Provide sight translation in the presence of a provider and/or other medical staff
+ Assist patients to complete medical, financial, or other forms
