Key Responsibilities:

1. Blood Collection & Specimen Handling

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures safely and efficiently.
• Collect and properly label blood specimens according to hospital protocols.
• Ensure accurate patient identification before sample collection.
• Adhere to proper techniques for handling and storing specimens to maintain integrity.

2. Patient Care & Safety

• Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns before drawing blood.
• Provide reassurance and comfort to anxious or pediatric patients.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately.
• Follow strict infection control and hygiene practices as per hospital guidelines.
• Following laboratory safety and infection control procedures.
