Medical Technologist

I. Duties and Responsibilities

a. Functions under the supervision of the Laboratory Head.

b. Manages and maintain equipment

c. Verify all test results and ensure that they are correctly matched with the specimen

d. Use established laboratory protocol to perform laboratory tests and correctly log the results of those tests.

e. Maintains patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential

f. Reports to the Laboratory Head any significant problems of which he/she becomes aware in daily practice.

g. Review their department's job description for accuracy and completeness at least every two years.

h. Understands clinical laboratory methods, demonstrates knowledge of testing processes which includes inventory of laboratory stocks, maintaining and calibrating equipment, validity of specimens, configure and/or troubleshoot laboratory testing systems and instruments.

i. Label and organize all tests appropriately
