Medical Underwriter – Medical Underwriting

Medical underwriting is the practice of assessing an individuals medical information to determine their suitability for an insurance application. This position is appropriate for individuals with practical medical knowledge or experience in healthcare and are looking to apply their skills to a career in the insurance industry. This role will report directly to the Manager of Medical Underwriting as part of a cohesive team of health insurance risk selectors.

Requirements WHAT YOU WILL DO: Review applications for medically underwritten benefits to assess pre-existing medical history and evaluate morbidity and mortality risk. Communicate with applicants, health professionals, and businesses to gather information and explain decisions and policies. Interpret, summarize, and record relevant medical information.
