Mid-Level Java Engineer – Full Time

About the Role
We are hiring a mid-level Java Engineer to join a long-standing research platform that has been
operating for nearly 20 years and is widely used within the Academic Development Economics
field.
This role requires deep expertise in legacy JVM-based systems. You will be responsible for
building new features on top of an established codebase while contributing to the evolution of
AI-powered capabilities within the platform.
This is a full-time position and requires full integration into the core engineering team.
Core Responsibilities
● Develop and maintain backend systems built on legacy Java stacks
● Design, deploy, and debug applications running on the JVM
● Build new features on top of existing legacy architecture
● Work directly with vanilla JavaScript for frontend interactions
● Contribute to testing and integrating AI-powered platform capabilities
