Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
To work in collaboration and support of the Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) role. The NSWOC applies evidence-based, advanced nursing knowledge, skills, and judgement specific to wound and ostomy care. As an independent practitioner within an inter-professional and collaborative team, the NSWOC acts as a resource and consultant for healthcare professionals and provides education and support to clients and their families.
QUALIFICATIONS
Active registration with the Nurses’ Association of New Brunswick. 
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. 
Completion of (or willing to complete) Wound, Ostomy and Continence Education Program (WOC-EP) recognized by the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists (WCET). 
Canadian Nurses Association certification (WOCC (C)) is considered an asset. 
Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience. 
Ability to work independently and in teams.
