Overview

The Tissue Bank Specialist (TB-01) performs: screening of medical records for evaluation of donor suitability for the surgical retrieval of ocular, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and skin tissue from cadaveric donors. Duties include screening, evaluation, consent, procurement, preservation, processing and storage of donor tissue. Other duties include the distribution and tracking of human tissue allografts for transplantation and performing procedures required for engineering of all human tissue allografts.

The Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (TB-02) performs the duties of TB-01, assumes additional responsibilities as outlined below and may also be required to provide clinical and technical guidance, expertise, training and orientation to other tissue bank staff.
