Naval Architect

Supervises, plans, schedules and provides technical guidance and design expertise in the planning, repair, modification and maintenance of ships and other productive work.



Provides engineering liaison with waterfront production efforts. Participates in engineering studies as assigned, assists in the preparation, conduct and evaluation of inspections, tests and trials.





2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



2.1 Supervises and coordinates engineering projects as directed by P& E Manager.



2.2 Provides technical guidance and assistance in the planning, design, repair, modification and overhaul in the areas of ship’s hull structure, outfitting and preservation.



2.3 Perform inspection and evaluation services on all hull and outfitting. Conducts inclining experiments and stability calculations. Performs docking calculation.
