Neurology Technician

UPMC Altoona is currently looking for a casual Neurology Technician to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will provide on call coverage as well for the weekends/holidays. will rotate with the other technologists.

Responsibilities:

+ Recognizes and responds appropriately to patient's medical problems and physiological events, especially cardiac dysrhythmias, respiratory events and seizuresIs able to safely lift and move patient without harm to patient or self. Ensures safety and welfare of all patients, including those pediatric, psychiatric, and geriatric with special needs and any other patients with special needsChecks availability and function of emergency equipmentComplies with universal infection control procedures Properly disinfects and sterilizes appropriate electrodes, transducers and equipment Appropriately handles hazardous materials according to MSDSPrepares and assists with EMG and NCV.Assures that an adequate clinical history is availabl...
