NEWS JOURNALIST (MATERNITY LEAVE CONTRACT)

The Galway Advertiser wishes to recruit a
News Journalist
(Maternity Leave Contract)
The successful applicant ideally should have experience in
a busy newsroom environment.

They will be required to write clear, concise, accurate and
interesting copy for news, business, features and to cover
local authority meetings.

Specific areas of responsibility will include coverage of
current affairs, local news, lifestyle content, and content for
supplements/features.

The candidate should, as a minimum, be qualified to
degree level in journalism or a related field and have a
good working knowledge of social media platforms.

They will also be required to liaise with Galway’s business
community, update our digital platforms on a daily basis
and to work to tight deadlines.

Own car and full driver’s licence are required.
