Non-invasive Cardiac Laboratory Technician

Job Summary

Provides technical support during testing in the Echocardiography Laboratory. May also provide clerical assistance to these areas, using judgment and initiative to complete tasks and assist with the daily operations and workflow of the lab. Supports ongoing maintenance of ultrasound and stress testing equipment in conjunction with service agreements. Technician meets the qualifications to provide care for the patients in the specific age range in their assigned laboratory.
Job Duties


+ Explains test procedures to the patient before their studies.

+ Prepares inpatients and outpatients for noninvasive procedures such as exercise tests and transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiographic studies.

+ This includes having patient change into appropriate gown, shave chest as appropriate, place ECG electrodes in proper location, insert intravenous line as ordered and prepare necessary paperwork.
