Nurse Practitioner - Community Respiratory Therapy (Winnipeg)

Position Overview

Under the general direction of Director Health Services, Manager Health Services or designate, as part of the multidisciplinary team, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) applies advanced nursing and medical theory to the provision of clinical care, autonomously ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmacologic agents and performing minor invasive procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Applying current/relevant nursing and medical theory to contribute to knowledge and advance the nursing profession.
• Incorporating medical and advanced nursing knowledge into clinical practice.
• Practicing autonomously to promote health and prevent illness, including planning, implementing and evaluating complex care, and teaching others.
• Providing problem‑solving support among staff, patients/residents/clients, physicians and multidisciplinary team.
