Nurse Team Lead - Forensic Assessment & Treatment Unit (FATU)

Position Summary

The Team Leader is a Registered Nurse who supports the safe, effective, and coordinated daily operation of an inpatient clinical unit. The role provides clinical leadership, operational coordination, and point‑of‑care support to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care while supporting staff, learners, and interprofessional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership and Patient Care

• Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, and appointments during assigned shifts.
• Lead management of the unit milieu, prioritizing safety, quality, and patient‑centered care.
• Facilitate service delivery and ensure patients, families, and visitors are oriented to the unit.
• Carry a patient assignment as required based on unit acuity, census, and staffing.
• Support emergency response and management of critical incidents.
