Nursery Person

Job Description

The Nursery Person works within the Council’s Community Group to produce and dispatch a diverse range of plants—including annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs—to meet municipal planting requirements across the city.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Nursery team to ensure bedding, tree, and shrub production targets are met.
• Assist the wider Nursery team with propagation activities.
• Maintain pest‑ and disease‑free nursery stock through proactive management.
• Ensure nursery stock remains weed‑free.
• Provide nourishment and pruning to meet required standards.
• Assist with seasonal workloads as required.
• Contribute to special projects as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in a commercial nursery.
• Excellent knowledge of native plants and exotic trees and shrubs.
