Nursing Assistant- Short Stay Surgical Unit - Day

**Hours: 36 hours/week**

**Shift: Four 9 hour shifts per week 10am-7.30pm rotating Monday thru Friday**

**1 year of hospital based experience preferred**

**Short Stay Unit (SSU)** is a 26-bed unit that specializes in pre-operative assessment and preparation of patients for surgery, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and/or imaging procedures as well as stage II post-operative assessment, discharge teaching and planning.

**General Summary**

Provides clinical support services to patient care staff by performing a variety of duties related to patient care. Takes patient vital signs, assists patients with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.), inventories and replenishes supplies and equipment, and performs special assigned duties such as performing EKGs and Point-of-Care testing.
