Application is the understanding of the job-to-be done at the customer. This includes
 
-Understand tools usage and application at customer side including data flow, process or metrology flow
-Understand how tool process, algorithms work 
-Operate the tool like customer
-In-depth knowledge's of tool on module base
 -Expert knowledge of the customers application and any limiting factor that may arise with current systems

 An Applications engineers operates the tool like the customer. As part of the application team of a specific product line (headed by product manager), Apps engineers have the following tasks:
