On Call School Nurse

POSITION OVERVIEW Orange County Public Schools is seeking compassionate, skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide direct nursing care, health education, and emergency response in a dynamic school environment. Nurses work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, parents, and community health partners to promote student wellness, manage chronic conditions, and ensure a safe learning environment. KEY RESPONSIBATILITIES Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and OCPS protocols. Perform health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, BMI) as required by Florida statutes. Maintain accurate, confidential health records in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA. Respond to medical emergencies; initiate CPR/AED and first aid as needed. Monitor and manage students with chronic conditions (diabetes, asthma, seizures, allergies). Develop and update Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs). Implement IHPs and 504 accommodations.
