Description of Role

We’re looking for an energetic leader with rock-solid news judgment and a knack for generating original ideas to oversee the Ontario bureau of The Canadian Press. The successful candidate will be an experienced supervisor who has a hunger for breaking news and is able to mentor and inspire staff to unearth scoops and set the agenda. This manager will oversee a group of reporters in CP’s Toronto head office and our Queen’s Park correspondents.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the Ontario news editor, oversees coverage of the news report in Ontario for CP’s digital, print, video and broadcast services
• Supervises and schedules staff at Toronto head office and at Queen’s Park
• Liaises with other CP bureaus and the Managing Editor to help co‑ordinate coverage
