Operations R&D Chemist

A company in the Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic industry is looking for an Operations R&D Chemist to join their team in Cape Town. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Optimize and refine existing skin care formulations to improve product performance. Proactively identify and evaluate new /alternative raw materials or suppliers to ensure continuous raw material supply, safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainability. Conduct lab-scale batching, optimize manufacturing procedures, and collaborate with pilot/production teams to successfully transition formulas from R&D bench to manufacturing scale. Participate in product reworks. Conduct and manage performance, efficacy, and compatibility testing of formulations & packaging. Ensure all formulations / projects meet internal quality standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
