VIAVI is seeking a skilled Opto-Mechanical Engineer to join their R&D team. This role focuses on the design and development of photonics products within VIAVI’s test equipment portfolio. Candidates should possess experience with opto-mechanical systems, packaging tools, and an ability to transition designs into manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop photonics products for testing equipment
• Draft component drawings and prototype designs
• Create jigs and fixtures for optical alignment
• Evaluate optical technologies and propose new concepts
• Lead optical/system design reviews and training
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering Physics or similar
• 5+ years in photonics product development
• Experience in opto-mechanical systems and tooling
