Orthopedic Surgeon

Position Overview

The Orthopaedic Department at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC is seeking a full-time orthopaedic surgeon. The five surgeons on staff provide general orthopaedics, hip/knee arthroplasty, upper extremity and sports surgery coverage. The department looks for candidates with an interest in general community orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

• Provide general orthopaedics and coverage for hip/knee arthroplasty, upper extremity and sports surgery.
• Participate in an evenly distributed call schedule with an average call load of 1:5.
• Perform elective operating room work averaging one day per week.
• Assist in the hospital‑based cast clinic for one day a week, working with two certified cast technicians.
• Potential to share an office or set up an independent office.
