Outreach/Security

FTE: 3 – 1.0 FTE
PROGRAM: Lethbridge Wellness Shelter and Stabilization Unit
REPORTING TO: Coordinator

SUMMARY OF WORK:

The Outreach/Security is responsible for providing outreach support to build rapport with unsheltered individuals, de‑escalating and support during mental health or substance-related emergencies, helping clients in navigating social services and data documentation.

PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:

• Education in Addictions and Mental Health, or other related is considered an asset.
• 2 to 3 years experience in a high risk environment: health care, low income, homeless shelters, etc.
• Personal experience in recovery from addiction challenge(s), and ability to draw upon
  wellness and recovery in providing intentional peer support (asset).
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Security Guard position (preferred)
