As a certified paramedic, responds on-site to all type of emergencies, and sometimes encounters situations which is life threatening. During response, independently determines the shortest and safest route to the incident location while gathering pertinent data prior to arrival. Upon arrival at the scene, makes an independent preliminary assessment as to scene safety and patient status. Conducts both a complete site survey for hazardous conditions and a physical examination of the patient in order to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of the patient's condition including the search for medical alert symbols and medications.
