Part-Time Academic (ARBC 1021.03: Introduction to Arabic I, Section 1) - Fall 2026

A part-time academic is required to teach ARBC Introduction to Arabic I (Section 1) – Fall Term 2026 (September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026).

Currently Scheduled: TR 1135-1255.

ARBC1021 is an introductory Arabic language (Modern Standard Arabic – MSA) class meant for absolute beginners. In this class students will learn to write with Arabic characters, to read simple original texts in Arabic, and to use the basic components of Arabic grammar and basic daily vocabulary. The instructor will prepare the students for the second half of the introductory class offered in the Winter. The textbook used for this class is “Mastering Arabic I” (by Jane Wightwick and Mahmoud Gaafar, 2015 edition).

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, and electronic submission of grades. Instructors are expected to ...
