The Indigenous Studies program at Mount Allison University invites applications for a part-time position in the Spring 2026 semester. The Spring semester runs from May 4 to June 19, 2026. Salary will be calculated on a per-student basis, and an additional course creation fee to facilitate setting up and developing materials for the class.
The successful candidate will teach an online, synchronous class called INDG 2401 Indigenous Peoples in Canada. The course meets online twice a week through Microsoft Teams for a total of five hours per week.
The course description from the Academic Calendar is: From an Indigenous perspective, this course provides an introduction to Indigenous people (First Nation, Inuit, and Métis) living within Canadian state borders. Indigenous diversity in Canada is examined through history, culture, language, geography, politics, economics, as well as the relationships between Indigenous peoples and the Settler State.
