Path 1 Kawader: Research Assistant – Center for Smart Engineering Materials

The Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM), New York University Abu Dhabi, are inviting applications for a Kawader fellows in the areas of thermal, mechanical and electrical characterization of materials.

The candidate will work as a research fellow with the CSEM and the Smart Materials Lab (Naumov research group), nyuad.nyu.edu/en/research/faculty-research/naumov-group.html). The role will involve preparing, characterizing and testing new smart materials, at the intersection of materials science, chemistry, and engineering. A strong background in thermal or mechanical characterization of the surface and bulk properties of solids from either science (solid-state physics) or engineering (mechanical) is a requirement. The specific research projects will focus on both experimental and modeling aspects of the effects of temperature on mechanical properties, such as ability for elastic or plastic deformation.
