Pharmacist (Pharmacy Supervisor)

Summary This position is located in Pharmacy service at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center. This position provides support for the Inpatient Pharmacy and compounding programs. Responsibilities 1. Functions or Scopes of Practice A. Administrative/ Supervisory 1. Supervises inpatient pharmacy technicians, manages staffing schedules, and leave. Coordinates use of fee-basis, intermittent staff, and volunteers. 2. Develops and updates policies to reflect current practice and meet regulatory requirements. 3. Ensures expired drugs are properly stored and returned or destroyed per policy, including unusable controlled substances. 4. Interviews applicants and recommends selections. Evaluates performance and recommends personnel actions. 5. Updates certain functional statements for inpatient pharmacy staff. 6.
