Pharmacist Job Description

Primary Objective: To ensure the safe, accurate, and effective use of medications for patients.

• Prescription Screening & Verification: Reviewing and verifying prescriptions to ensure the accuracy of the drug name, dosage, frequency, and duration as prescribed by the doctor.
• Patient Counseling: Providing clear instructions to patients on how to take their medication, optimal timing, potential side effects, and storage requirements.
• Dispensing: Preparing and supplying medications (including controlled substances/scheduled poisons) in compliance with pharmaceutical laws and regulations.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels to ensure an adequate supply of medications and performing regular checks to identify and remove expired or damaged products.
• Clinical Intervention: Identifying and preventing potential drug-drug interactions, allergies, or contraindications to protect patient safety.
