The Pharmacy Support Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the pharmacy. This role plays a critical role in ensuring safe and effective patient care by obtaining accurate and up-to-date medication histories upon hospital admission. This position is responsible for interviewing patients and/or caregivers to gather detailed information regarding current medications, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, and supplements. In addition, the Pharmacy Support Assistant will contact retail pharmacies, outpatient providers, and other healthcare institutions as needed to verify and clarify medication information.
