Living systems develop complex structures and functions through principles of self-organization. Stem-cell derived organoids represent a unique platform to dissect these mechanisms, as they reca-pitulate key aspects of embryonic development and tissue morphogenesis in vitro. The group of Prof. Bausch investigates the physical principles underlying these emergent processes and is looking for a PhD student / PostDoc (f/m/d)

The Mission

Understanding how multicellular systems organize themselves into tissues is a central challenge in modern biology and biophysics. Our group focuses on organoid and gastruloid systems derived from human pluripotent stem cells to study the interplay of cell fate decisions, morphogenetic flows, and physical constraints.
