About the position

Socioecological transition, the decarbonisation of economies and the technological, political and challenges it generates, pose urgent and important questions for the social sciences. The Department of Sociology and Social Work at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Agder, invites applications for a PhD research fellow to conduct sociological research on the politics of socioecological transition. Relevant topics may include, but are not limited to: the challenges and tools for democratic politics and governance posed by policies and technologies of transition; the comparison and dynamics of social movements, imaginaries and discourses around sustainability; the exclusions, inequalities and injustices related to environmental governance; populist and far-right responses to green transition, the social and political consequences of initiatives and strategies such as the European Green Deal and the politics of twin ...
