Within the institute for materials research (imo-imomec) of Hasselt University and the LCP group of Gent University there is a PhD position on Cu(In,Ga)Se2/Perovskite (CIGS/Pk) thin film tandem solar cells. The combination of CIGS and Pk will allow for the development of tandem solar cells, which can be made lightweight and flexible. Both materials have high efficiencies > %, but are also known to contain mobile ions that diffuse over time. In this project, this effect will be examined for the CIGS/Pk tandem solar cells. A focus will be on the interconnection layers between the CIGS and Pk sub cells. Stand-alone devices will be prepared, measured and characterized.
